Coovents started out as a dream, a dream of saving beer money (and writing PHP code.) Luckily other people really liked this idea too.

Coovents 1.0 showed the awesomeness of hyperlocal events. If you wanted to find a happy hour in NYC, Coovents had you covered. With our iPhone app, NYC happy hours practically found you!
Lately, with my other partners, I’ve been hard at work on Hapnin.com, a hyperlocal events platform (you can get hyperlocal events on your site too, see below.) Hapnin is like Coovents on 4 shots of espresso.
Today Team Coovents is excited to announce Coovents 2.0, our integration with the Hapnin publishers platform. Hapnin aggregates events and pumps out event streams. (Event streams are sequencial listings of events, like happy hours in the East Village.) Coovents already did this, so why the upgrade?
True, Coovents did a lot of this already, but there is tons of work that goes into maintaining event data and adding new events, etc. With the Hapnin event stream on Coovents, all of these issues are taken care of. Now we can spend our time enjoying the happy hours! Plus Hapnin has over 800 NYC happy hours =)
If event streams sound cool to you, you can join the Hapnin.com publishers network too.

The Coovents iPhone App, which we demoed at the NY Tech February Meetup, is now live! Get all the happy hour goodness on your iPhone today.

Also, check out our mention in Thrillist!
“For on-the-go besotted frugality, this just-launched iPhone app first geo-locates you, then lists the 10 nearest happy hours in order of starting time (e.g., $1 Slane well drinks in 22 minutes, $4 Hop Devil select pints until 7pm, etc), plus GMaps them for easy wayfinding. The app also lets you search happy hours by hood & day, and even creates a customizable clock face that displays the time frames of your faves (what time is it? Time to get swill).”
16 beers enter, but only 1 will survive The Coovents March Madness of Beers. We’re kicking off March with a tournament to find the best beer. So far 17 beers have been nominated.

To nominate a beer, just tweet “[name of beer] http://www.Coovents.com/beers RT for a chance to win $100 and other prizes.” Click here to see an example. We’ll see your tweet and add it to http://www.Coovents.com/beers. The 16 beers with the most votes will enter our tournament. The beers will go head-to-head for 4 rounds. After all these rounds of voting, we’ll know which beer is best.
Everyone may vote once per round and each vote counts as an entry for a chance to win $100 and other prizes!

Team Coovents, and company took over the top tier at Tonic East last Wednesday. It was a blast talking shop, hanging out with Coovents fans and having one too many shots (but who’s counting)?
