Follow Your Favorite Locations and People
hapnin:
Hey there!
We’re working on some new cool features. Soon you’ll be able to follow your favorite locations (you can already follow people). We’re also building a new page to show these hapnins; from the locations and people you follow.
It’s looking good! We think this will help you cut through our data to find the best hapnins for you.

Coovents 2.0
Coovents started out as a dream, a dream of saving beer money (and writing PHP code.) Luckily other people really liked this idea too.
Coovents 1.0 showed the awesomeness of hyperlocal events. If you wanted to find a happy hour in NYC, Coovents had you covered. With our iPhone app, NYC happy hours practically found you!
Lately, with my other partners, I’ve been hard at work on...

Also, check out our mention in Thrillist!
“For on-the-go besotted frugality, this just-launched iPhone app first geo-locates you, then lists the 10 nearest happy hours in order of starting time (e.g., $1 Slane well drinks in 22 minutes, $4 Hop Devil...

Coovents Launches March Madness of Beers
paintthetownred:
The tournament, which began, this week involves nominating and voting for your favorite beer using Twitter.
From the information available over at Coovents’ Web site:
To vote for or nominate a beer, just tweet “[name of beer] http://www.Coovents.com/beers RT for a chance to win $100 and other prizes.” Like this, “Coors Light http://www.Coovents.com/beers RT for a chance to win...
Basketball isn't the only game in town this March
16 beers enter, but only 1 will survive The Coovents March Madness of Beers. We’re kicking off March with a tournament to find the best beer. So far 17 beers have been nominated.
To nominate a beer, just tweet “[name of beer] http://www.Coovents.com/beers RT for a chance to win $100 and other prizes.” Click here to see an example. We’ll see your tweet and add it to...
The First Official Coovents GET HAPPY Hour
Via @Chevon on SoUrban.net.
Team Coovents, and company took over the top tier at Tonic East last Wednesday. It was a blast talking shop, hanging out with Coovents fans and having one too many shots (but who’s counting)?

Coovents Expands
The NY Tech Meetup was great and we got a chance to demo the Coovents iPhone app. The reaction to Coovents has been encouraging and we’re going to grow. We’ve attracted a new partner, now we’ll have more muscle behind this service and I’ll have the ability to work on it fulltime!
I can’t give away too many details now, but we need your help. Please take our survey...

What's Next?
The Coovents pigeon is getting quite the workout and lots of attention. As always, she’s flying around town collecting happy hour info to help you save a buck or two.
Coovents was recentlly covered on CenterNetworks, thanks Allen.
We love listing happy hours so much, we’re going to throw one soon! The details aren’t finalized yet, but it will take place late Feb or early March (with an open...

Add Your Own Happy Hour
Everything is full speed ahead at Coovents.com. I’ve added a few new neighborhoods and soon all of NYC will be covered.
The Coovents.com twitter feed (twitter.com/coovents) now tweets out 3 of the best NYC happy hours per hour. This seems to work well, people get the info about happy hours without being flooded by tweets.
The new feature for this week is user added happy hours. Add your...

Maps and Feeds
Coovents is blasting off! I’ve been hard at work and a lot has changed since my last post. First, I’ve tweaked the layout of Coovents. I did like the pink/gray squares, but they weren’t functional. The new streamlined layout reminds me of a feed, which is nice because that’s kinda what Coovents is. You’ll also notice the big map(s). I love this addition; it’s so...

Happy Hours and Coovents
Happy hours are some of my favorite events. Coovents.com has always been about events, but it needed focus - happy hours were the answer. Check out Coovents.com now for tons of awesome East Village happy hours.
The Lower East Side is next, then who knows…

Textmarks and Coovents
Hi All,
Everything is working well on Coovents.com. The Twitter script is working, as well as the cron job!
Even better than that is Textmarks. Textmarks is an SMS service similar to Mobivity, but Textmarks is Free!
I’ve tweaked the code and I’m playing around with it, feel free to use Textmarks by using 414111 as the shortcode. The new service works the same as the old...
Coovents and Twitter Part 2
It looks like my tweaks yesterday fixed the Twitter Coovents issue. Today, the events on Coovents were set to Twitter correctly.
Everything seems to be working on Coovents!
Coovents and Twitter
I’m playing around with the Twitter Coovents feature. It’s still a little wonky today, but the SMS service works fine.
Twitter changed how they handle @ replies, which has forced me to update the Coovents Twitter script. (I used this page to build the Coovents Twitter feature.)
Something funky is going on becuase old @replies are still being displayed. The Sonic Youth, Test 1, and...
What's Good in Your Hood?
What’s missing from all the New York nightlife and events websites? The people! Sure, you can find a bar, a concert or an event in Central Park. This is all top-down information, they’re telling you what’s going on. What gives, why can’t you tell others what’s happening? Coovents gives you a voice and lets you share all the cool events happening in New York. Next...
