The NY Tech Meetup was great and we got a chance to demo the Coovents iPhone app. The reaction to Coovents has been encouraging and we’re going to grow. We’ve attracted a new partner, now we’ll have more muscle behind this service and I’ll have the ability to work on it fulltime!
I can’t give away too many details now, but we need your help. Please take our survey on Coovents.com, you can’t miss the link.
The Coovents pigeon is getting quite the workout and lots of attention. As always, she’s flying around town collecting happy hour info to help you save a buck or two.
Coovents was recentlly covered on CenterNetworks, thanks Allen.
We love listing happy hours so much, we’re going to throw one soon! The details aren’t finalized yet, but it will take place late Feb or early March (with an open bar!) Stay tuned for updates.

In case you haven’t heard, Coovents.com was covered in Thrillist’s NYC edtion! http://www.thrillist.com/new-york/coovents
This is great, we’re very happy and thankful, but there is so much more to do. We’re rolling out new neighborhoods soon and an awesome iPhone app.
Tell a friend about Coovents.com and enjoy the happy hours!
Greg
Everything is full speed ahead at Coovents.com. I’ve added a few new neighborhoods and soon all of NYC will be covered.
The Coovents.com twitter feed (twitter.com/coovents) now tweets out 3 of the best NYC happy hours per hour. This seems to work well, people get the info about happy hours without being flooded by tweets.
The new feature for this week is user added happy hours. Add your own happy hour today.
Coovents is blasting off! I’ve been hard at work and a lot has changed since my last post. First, I’ve tweaked the layout of Coovents. I did like the pink/gray squares, but they weren’t functional. The new streamlined layout reminds me of a feed, which is nice because that’s kinda what Coovents is.
You’ll also notice the big map(s). I love this addition; it’s so easy to see where happy hours are going on!
I’ve started adding happy hours in Williamsburg. Most of my favorite neighborhoods are now in Coovents.
My Happy Hours, the Coovents Facebook app is up and running, check it out here: http://apps.facebook.com/my-happy-hours
These are some of the cool features and updates I’ve released on Coovents. In the near future, I’ll have Twitter feeds for each neighborhood, this featured was requested by some awesome followers.
I’m starting to hear feedback from the Coovents community, if you have comments or suggestions, please email me, Coovents[at]Sourban.net.
Happy hours are some of my favorite events. Coovents.com has always been about events, but it needed focus - happy hours were the answer. Check out Coovents.com now for tons of awesome East Village happy hours.
The Lower East Side is next, then who knows…
Hi All,
Everything is working well on Coovents.com. The Twitter script is working, as well as the cron job!
Even better than that is Textmarks. Textmarks is an SMS service similar to Mobivity, but Textmarks is Free!
I’ve tweaked the code and I’m playing around with it, feel free to use Textmarks by using 414111 as the shortcode. The new service works the same as the old (“Coovents 3” “Coovents add MESSAGE”).
I’m going to test Textmarks this weekend and if all goes well, I’ll switch over to it.
Enjoy the weekend,
Greg
It looks like my tweaks yesterday fixed the Twitter Coovents issue. Today, the events on Coovents were set to Twitter correctly.
Everything seems to be working on Coovents!
I’m playing around with the Twitter Coovents feature. It’s still a little wonky today, but the SMS service works fine.
Twitter changed how they handle @ replies, which has forced me to update the Coovents Twitter script. (I used this page to build the Coovents Twitter feature.)
Something funky is going on becuase old @replies are still being displayed. The Sonic Youth, Test 1, and Test is up tweets shouldn’t appear (but they are.)
As I said, the Coovents Twitter feature is wonky. I’m working to fix it!
